- Description
- Crouched infantryman in battledress with slung rifle, advancing through mud, upon plinth. Plinth bears bronze reliefs, one of a naval scene and one of an aircraft scene. There are carved details at either end of the pedestal, depicting a woman and child (signifying grief) and St. George.
- Inscription
- East Face: GIVE HONOUR TO THE MEN OF ST SAVIOURS SOUTHWARK WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE EMPIRE 1914-1918. THEIR NAMES ARE INSCRIBED WITHIN THE PARISH CHURCH. MAY THEIR MEMORY LIVE FOR EVER IN THE MINDS OF MEN. West face: THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY THE PARISHIONERS OF ST SAVIOURS SOUTHWARK IN THE YEAR 1922.

- 2014, March: memorial refurbishment completed. 2013, November: entire memorial dismantled and removed due to foundations failing. New foundations will be laid, and restoration and cleaning conducted before the memorial is returned. 2013, June: the bayonet and rifle muzzle have been removed in an act of vandalism. Listed by Southwark Council
