Description
Figure of Victory with sword in one hand and a palm branch in the other. Figure is mounted on a pedestal which surmounts a three stepped base. On the front face of the pedestal are two bronze plaques. The upper plaque has the dedicatory inscription with a relief image depicting a seascape with battleships in the foreground at the top of the plaque. Above this plaque is a bronze wreath. Bronze plaques with names of the war dead of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 are affixed to the faces of the plinth. The memorial is surrounded by metal railings. A small plaque commemorating a US parachute regiment, which was based in Portrush, is affixed to the railings.
