History
THE MEMORIAL CROSS (NIWM 20672) WAS BADLY DAMAGED IN A BLIZZARD IN MARCH 1981. AS PART OF EXTENSIVE RESTORATION WORK THE BRONZE PLAQUES WERE TRANSFERRED TO THE WALLS OF THE BRITSH LEGION CLUB WHERE THEY NOW FORM A SEPARATE MEMORIAL (NIWM 20673) It is believed that there were originaly 63 names on the memorial, for the men of the village. Then plaques were added to include men of the surrounding area, making the total 156 names.
