2003: MEMORIAL REBUILT 2001: MEMORIAL WAS DEMOLISHED BY A MILK FLOAT. THE OBELISK WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR BUT THE BASE AND PLINTH WERE SAVED. THE OBELISK WILL BE REPLACED WHEN THE MEMORIAL IS REBUILT. c1970: Surrounding railings removed. c1945: Surrounding railings replaced. c1939: Surrounding railings removed to provide war materials.
