Description
3rd Edition - Dark blue leather loose leaf binder with detail and the Squadron badge of 49 Squadron on the spine and cover. The book has 109 pages; containing lead and information pages, the names and details of those lost while serving with the Squadron on operations both in the World War years and other 20th Century campaigns. This 'New' Roll of Honour placed in 2012 - 3rd Edition, replaces the previous Light blue cover RoH - 2nd Edition, and has been updated with new information including the exact death date. 2nd Edition, archived - Desk top published book of 96 pages with light blue cover and 49 Bomber Squadron badge in colour.

Cover: Roll of/ Honour/ 49 SQUADRON Lead page: 49 Squadron Association/ Roll of Honour 2012/ The original (20 plus years) research by our late chairman L J (Uncle Will) Hay DFC/ and later by our Honorary President, John Ward, was mainly obtained from the/ Operation Record Books (ORB's) which give the time of takeoff and landing but not/ the actual time of death. The dual dates (e.g. 02-03/01/44) were published in the first/ and second editions of the Squadron history, Beware Of The Dog At War, and copies/ of the original Roll of Honour./ Thanks to Malcolm Brooke, our Webmaster, the exact date of death has been obtained/ from every known gravestone and from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission/ records.
