Description
Three light stained glass window with inscription at the base. Figures depicted in each light. In the left hand light are views of aeroplanes descending to the hangars in the left foreground. In the background are clouds. In the centre light is St Michael with wings extended across the side lights. He is shown piercing the dragon of evil with a lance surmounted with the cross. At the base is an aerial view of Lincoln Cathedral. In the right hand light the various types of aircraft which flew from the airfield are shown flying above the cathedral, A Sopwich Camel, a Blackburn Bomber and Avros. A submarine is on the surface of the sea in the distance. At the top of the lights are the badges of the the Royal Naval Air Service, Royal Flying Corps, Royal Air Force and a depiction of the Distinguished Flying Cross.
