Metal bronze plaque with classical pediment & supporting pilasters with relief of laurel garland in centre at top commemorating WW1. A simpler plaque for WW2 losses was subsequently added below. Subsequently moved to Norwich Breweries memorial site - see 92501

MARCH 2003: Because of redevelopment, the brick surround and seat have been demolished and the plaque removed. It is currently in the safe keeping of the contractors, Hopkins Homes of Woodbridge, Suffolk. Friends of War Memorials are keeping an eye on its reinstatement.

  • A Century of British Brewers plus plus 1890-2012 by Norman Barber, Mike Brown and Ken Smith p.113 Published:Longfield Brewery History Society 2012 Longfield, Kent Morgan's Brewery Co Ltd was damaged by bombing in 1942. Went into liquidation in 1961, and acquired by Bullard & Sons Ltd and Steward & Patteson Ltd, both also of Norwich.By prior arrangement transferred to Watney Mann in 1963. Became the Norwich brewery Ltd in 1976. Brewing ceased in 1985 and most of the brewery buildings were demolished in 1989.
