Description
Soldier carrying fieldglasses and rifle surmounting rough hewn pedestal. Statue depicts Colonel O'Leary who died while leading his men in the final charge on Pieters Hill. A relief frieze on plaque depicts the dead body of a soldier, an angel at one end and widow and child at the other.
