- Description
- Three light stained glass window with associated plaque. The centre lights represent figures of St sebastian, St Oswald and St Maurice. in the lower portions are depicted scenes of St Oswald's battle at Hevensfeld, as recorded in Bede's History (Book iii, chapter 2). These figures and subjects were selected on the ground that among the Saints they found many who were honoured with the title, not so much for their ascetic lives and daily personal attendance on divine mysteries and work, but because they had embraced the cause of truth and right in God's name, and had laid down their lives in the cause to the advantage of others, both in their own and subsequent times.
