Wall mounted white marble tablet with relief of the Naval Expedition to Frederickshamn at the base.
Inscription
CHARLES CHAMBERS ESQ. SECOND SON OF THE REVD./ THOMAS CHAMBERS BY MARY, DAUGHTER OF/ SANDERSON MILLER, ESQ. OF THIS PARISH, AND/ GRANDSON OF THOMAS CHAMBERS, ESQ OF STUDLEY/ IN THIS COUNTY./ FOR MANY YEARS HE WAS ACTIVELY ENGAGED AS/ A SURGEON IN THE ROYAL NAVY. WITH A VIEW/ TO BE PROFESSIONALLY USEFUL HE VOLUNTARILY/ ACCOMPANIED AN EXPEDITION ON THE 28 JULY 1809/ BY THE BOATS OF THE SQUADRON UNDER THE COMMAND/ OF SIR J SAUMAREZ AGAINST A BRIG AND SEVERAL/ RUSSIAN GUNBOATS AT FREDRICKSHAMN, GULF OF/ FINLAND. THE ENEMY'S VESSELS WERE ALL TAKEN/ AFTER A SANGUINARY CONTEST. FOR HIS SERVICES/ ON THIS OCCASION HE WAS SPECIALLY THANKED/ IN THE ADMIRAL'S DISPATCH AND SUBSEQUENTLY/ RECEIVED A WAR MEDAL./ DIED 6 AUGUST 1854
