- Black marble tablet, within two square fluted columns of a stone memorial, wall mounted, engraved lettering, gold text, on left margin two regimental badges, crossed cavalry swords at lower edge.

- MAJOR CHANDOS LEIGH D.S.O. KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS THE ELDER SON OF THE HONBLE SIR EDWARD CHANDOS LEIGH K.G. K.C.B. WHO FOUGHT WITH DISTINCTION IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR AFTERWARDS SERVING TEN YEARS WITH THE EGYPTIAN ARMY WHERE HE WAS DECORATED WITH THE ORDERS OF THE MEDTIDIEH AND OSMANIEH AND THE BAHR-EL-GHAZAL MEDAL AND CLASP (...) AND DIED IN FLANDERS AGED 40 OF WOUNDS RECEIVED AT THE BATTLE OF MONS 23 AUGUST 1914 ALSO OF HIS ONLY BROTHER EDWARD HENRY LEIGH LIEUTENANT 2ND BATT THE RIFLE BRIGADE WHO FELL IN THE ATTACK ON AUBERS RIDGE 9 MAY 1915 AGED 26 AFTER BEING PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED IN DISPATCHES BOTH BROTHERS WERE EDUCATED AT HARROW AND CAMBRIDGE (Exact wording unknown)
