Description
Tower mounted clock & associated two-corbelled tablet attached to a wall mounted, landscape orientated backboard. Tablet consists of an apex-headed pediment incorporating a horizontal moulded lower edge, below which, is the inscription plane & moulded-edge base shelf. Incised inscriptions infilled in black including year dates in tympanum.

Tablet, tympanum : 1914 + 1919 Tablet, inscription : TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF / MEN OF AUSTREY / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR. / THE CLOCK IN THIS TOWER WAS ERECTED. / (6 NAMES) / (1 NAME) 1939/45 / "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS. / THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE / FOR HIS FRIENDS."
