Description
Wall mounted alabaster tablet with broken pediment. Inscription placed on white marble at the centre of the tablet and bordered by carved pillars. At the bottom of the tablet is the cap star of the Coldstream Guards.

FOR THE/ ST AUSTELL DIVISION OF CORNWALL/ WHO LOST HIS LIFE (SEPT 30 1915)/ AFTER RESCUING A WOUNDED/ COMRADE UNDER HEAVY FIRE/ FOR WHICH GALLANT EXPLOIT/ HE WAS RECOMMENDED FOR/ THE VICTORIA CROSS THE MANY WHO LOVED HIM AS/ THE SOUL OF CHIVALRY, HONOUR/ AND FRIENDSHIP, HAVE ERECTED/ THIS TABLET IN THE CHURCH OF/ THE HOME WHICH HE CHERISHED
