Description
MARBLE SACRED HEART ALTAR WITH CARVED FIGURE OF CHIRST BELOW A CINQUE-FOIL ARCH AT CENTRE. PILLARS AT SIDES OF ARCH AND ON ALTAR FRONT BELOW. AN ASSOCIATED White Marble TABLET in brown marble frame WITH THE INSCRIPTION AND NAMES FOR WW1 IS MOUNTED ON ADJACENT WALL WITH A TABLET WITH WW2 INSCRIPTION ADDED BELOW-also white marble in brown marble frame. THERE IS A SMALL CRUCIFIX ABOVE THE WW1 INSCRIPTION, carved into the tablet.

Tablet: OF YOUR CHARITY PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF THE SOULS OF/ (NAMES)/ WHO SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES IN THE/ EUROPEAN WAR 1914 - 1919/ TO THEIR MEMORY THIS TABLET AND/ SACRED HEART ALTAR HAVE BEEN ERECTED/ BY THE PARISHIONERS DEC. 1919/ MAY THEY REST IN PEACE/ Tablet: IN LOVING MEMORY/ OF THOSE WHO DIED/ IN THE WAR YEARS/ 1939 - 1945/ MAY THEY REST IN PEACE
