A white stone pillar; cornice and frieze at the top; two bronze plaques on the face. Upper plaque has a winged figure of St Michael in relief at top centre and inscription in raised upright roman lettering, the names in ten columns. Lower plaque has coloured coat of arms of the Gas Light and Coke Co at top left and inscription in raised upright roman lettering, the names in ten columns.
