Description
WALL-MOUNTED BRASS PLAQUE WITH ORNATE WOODEN SURROUND. WOODEN BORDER SURROUNDING PLAQUE IS VERY ORNATE. PITCHED AT TOP WITH GILT PAINTED CROSS. CURVED ARCH AT TOP OF BORDER BEARS INSCRIPTION IN WELSH. WITHIN CURVED ARCH IS GILT COLOURED LATTICE-EFFECT, AT THE CENTRE OF WHICH IS A RELIEF OF A DOVE CARRYING AN OLIVE BRANCH. BORDER EITHER SIDE OF PLAQUE IS CARVED RELIEF OF ROSES AND LEAVES. ROSES ARE GILT-PAINTED. AT TOP AND BASE OF SIDE RELIEFS AT BRASS RELIEFS OF ZODIAC SIGNS(?); TOP LEFT AND TOP RIGHT ARE RAMS, BOTTOM LEFT IS A CRAB AND BOTTOM RIGHT ARE SCALES. BASE BORDER BEARS A RELIEF OF FISH APPEARING FROM THE SEA.
