IN PROUD AND LOVING MEMORY OF / WILLIAM LEFEBVRE BRODRICK / LIEUTENANT COMMANDER ROYAL NAVY / BORN 3 FEBRUARY 1904 / ELDER SON OF FRANCIS HAMMOND AND / MARY POMFRET BRODRICK, GRANDSON OF THE / REVEREND W. R. BRODRICK, SOMETIME VICAR OF THIS / PARISH AND HUSBAND OF ELEANOR MARGARET / DAUGHTER OF A.N. RICHARDS OF WOODSIDE. / HE WENT TO NORWAY WITH THE EXPEDITIONARY / FORCE IN 1940. AT THE BATTLE OF MATAPAN HE / WAS NAVIGATING OFFICER OF H.M.S. BARHAM AND / WENT DOWN WITH HER OFF SOLLUM 25TH NOV. 1941.
