ERECTED BY / CHARLES ERNEST BATES AND MARY ELIZABETH HIS WIFE / OF LIME COURT IN THIS PARISH / IN LOVING MEMORY OF THEIR TWO SONS / ALBERT JOHN, WHO FELL AT HAMEL FRANCE, ON SEPTEMBER THE 3RD 1916, AGED 23. / AND REGINALD ERNEST, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS AT ARRAS, APRIL 19TH 1917, AGED 20. / AND AS A GRATEFUL TRIBUTE TO OUR FIGHTING MEN OF ALL ARMS, WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM IN THE GREAT WAR.
