- A Latin cross set on a orb with a tall octagonal column and plinth. The whole is set within a low-walled enclosure with stepped access.

- 6 o'clock side [Line breaks unknown]: IN GRATITUDE TO THE MEN OF EAST GRINSTEAD WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY DURING THE GREAT WAR OF 1914-1918.
