SMALL OBELISK SET ON CURVING WALL WHICH FORMERLY CARRIED NAME TABLETS (SEE CONDITION SECTION). Inscription was under obelisk, with two panels of names each side.

VERY BADLY DETERIORATED ALTHOUGH APPARENTLY COMPLETE (1992). OVERGROWN AND BRICKWORK EXPOSED. NAME TABLETS REMOVED AND TRANSFERRED TO NEW MOUNT (C1989), A BRICK WALL BEHIND THE MAIN LANCING MEMORIAL. (OUR REF. 16573) "NEW" LANCING CARRIAGE WORKS MEMORIAL). It is not known if the WW2 tablets were added while the memorial was on its original site.
