- Description
- Window of three lights. Christ in Glory is shown with attendant angels in the top portion of the central light. To the left a minor circular light shows a whale and porpoises swimming, whilst to the right a similar light shows the sun, moon and stars. Beneath the Christ figure St George is portrayed in full armour, bearing a sword aloft in his right hand, and holding a shield in his left hand, treading down the dragon beneath his feet. The left-hand light features St Nicholas in the robes of a Bishop, holding a lighted taper, while the right-hand light features St Michael in armour, bearing a lance in his right hand and the scales of judgement in his left. Across the bottom are symbols of the fighting services - a battleship for the Navy, the Royal Standard for the Army, and a biplane in flight for the Air Force. On the cill below are brass plaques denoting, in Latin, the spheres of operation on those services - on sea, land, and in the air. Set beneath the window is a brass plaque bearing an incised Dedication and the names of the fallen.
