- Description
- Three-stepped octagonal base surmounted by a three-stage square sectioned plinth, ornate capstone & square sectioned tapering obelisk with a Sword of Sacrifice in heavy relief on each of the four faces. Beneath the sword point on front face is an unidentified object in relief. Capital letters "P A X" in relief at base of front face of obelisk. Upper step of base has stone block extensions at the 3, 6, 9 & 12 o'clock positions. An incised inscription tablet is set into front face of upper column-cornered plinth with another smaller tablet set into the lower stage plinth. Letters " N, M & W " within the main inscription are stylised. The whole memorial is bordered by a small gravelled area & lawn, further enclosed on three sides by a hedge, the front fourth side consisting of a hooped-top metal fence with gate.
