- Description
- Beech tree with the home states of origin of American troops based at Ashridge Estate carved into the bark. The states are Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, New York, Illinois and South Dakota and the date 4th May 1944 is written in American format. The inscription is surmounted by 'V' for victory and three dots and a dash, which is morse code for 'V'.
