SQUARE INSCRIBED TABLET FLANKED BY RECTANGULAR PANELS. A MOULDED SHELF ABOVE SUPPORTS AN OBELISK AND DRPAED OVAL MEDALLION WITH PROFILE PORTRAIT BUST. THERE IS A CENTRAL PAINTED ACHIEVEMENT IN CARTOUCHE. INCISED INSCRIPTION BLAZON: 1ST ARGENT ON A PILE SABLE THREE GRIFINS HEADS ERASED OF THE FIRST (HALSEY) 2ND ARGENT A CROSS FLORY AND FOUR MARTLETS GULES (STRINGER) 3RD GULES FIVE FUSILS IN FESS ERMINE (NECTON) IN BASE 1ST AND 3RD ARGENT A CHEVRON ERMINES AND THREE COCKS SABLE (HENSHAWE) 2ND CENTRED, LOZENGY OR AND AZURE ON A CHIEF GULES A LION PASSANT OF THE FIRST ON A WREATH OF THE COLOURS A COCKS HEAD ERASED

THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED IN MEMORY OF / FREDERICK HALSEY ESQre OF THIS PLACE, ELDEST SON AND / HEIR OF CHARLES HALSEY ESQRE. HE WAS IN THE YEAR / 1760 MADE COMMISSARY GENERAL OF THE ALLIED ARMY / IN GERMANY AND AFTERWARDS APPOINTED AID DE CAMP / TO HIS SERENE HIGHNESS THE HEREDITARY PRINCE OF / BRUNSWICK, IN WHICH CHARCTER HE DIED AT / DANNEROD IN THE COUNTY OF HESSE DARMSTADT, / THE 24TH OF AUGUST 1762 IN THE 35TH YEAR OF HIS AGE, / GREATLY BELOVED AND REGRETTED BY ALL WHO / WERE ACQUAINTED BY HIM, AND MORE DEEPLY LAMENTED BY HIS SURVIVING / RELATIONS, WHO LOST IN HIM THE BEST / OF SONS AND OF BROTHERS.
