- Description
- A five-light stained glass window with geometric tracery. The upper lights depict the Virgin Mary and infant Jesus in the centre, flanked by panels depicting angels gathering the souls of the departed. The four quatrefoils depict scenes from George Marsden-Smedley's life and experience: a child planting a tree; squirrels playing; the Aurora Borealis over Iceland; and Horris Hill Preparatory School. From left to right, the five lights depict: St George with an inset of the pillar of cloud to guide Israel by day; Jacob wrestling with the angel (with an inset showing the building of the walls of Jerusalem); Jacob's dream; David before Goliath with an angel guarding the city; and the archangel St Michael (with an inset showing the pillar of fire leading the Israelites by night).
