- Description
- Alcove shelter constructed from reinforced concrete blocks. Shelter has pointed arch roof supported by flanking pilasters. Pilasters are decorated with laurel wreaths and dates in relief - 1914 on left and 1919 on right. Inscription in relief across the arch. Slatted bench sits within shelter. On back wall are two white Italian marble inscription tablets and two stone shelves for displaying poppy wreaths. Tablets are tapered towards the top with cutouts at each corner and a hollowed border. On left wall is a rectangular marble tablet with hollowed border. Inscription on all tablets in black lettering.
