- Description
- A stone pillar bearing a commemorative plaque. The rough-hewn oblong sandstone pillar bears an oblong bronze plaque with a narrow raised border and the raised inscription in upright capital Roman lettering. The pillar surmounts an oblong plinth bearing a small supplementary brass plaque with an incised inscription in mixed case upright Roman lettering. The whole surmounts a circular gritstone base and is surrounded by a low circular iron railing decorated with metal poppies.
