- Description
- White Holington Stone obelisk with a carved laurel wreath on the shaft. Mounted on a stepped square base, the South face of which carries the WW1 Dedication tablet beneath a granite Latin Cross. The Names are carried on the East and West faces, with the WW1 tablets being in the lower section, and the WW2 tablets on the upper section. The tablets are slate, with the inscriptions being incised and whitened. Beneath each of the WW1 tablets there is an Addendum plaque in brass, with incised lettering. The memorial is set in a walled garden, the lie of the land leading to there being steps up from the Station Road at the front, with a level entrance from Queens Road at the East side of the garden. There are benches (one of the being WMR 68700), and a sundial in an open space behind the North face of the memorial.
