Description
Open Ionic rotunda with a low dome supported by six columns. In the centre a figure of St Michael with lance in his left hand and his right arm extended in benediction. In the floor are carved the arms of the county and the borough of Shrewsbury, the Croix de Guerre, the badge of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry and a cross.

Comments: Total subscribed and interest was £24,393 11s 3d. The cost of the memorial and the Roll of Honour totalled £4,399 9s 11d, and the balance was divided equally between two hospitals.('Wellington Journal' 25 Aug. 1923.)
