Condition
History
2015-War Memorials Trust grnat of £10,305 (reference WM8670) for repair and conservation as it was in poor conditions with deteriorated stonework and joints with missing or defective mortar. The steps leading to the lychgate were uneven and had moved. Anti-graffiti paint had to be removed as it was impacting on the structure by inhibiting breathing and water escaping from within, leading to expansion and cracking of stone. All these issues were rectified, also the inscription on the timber arch was re-gilded. Work completed early 2016.
