- Description
- A memorial garden. There is a model of a Mark V tank , with H41 marking, on top of a brick plinth with a sloping top. A dark-green metal plaque is affixed to the front of the plinth with engravings of regimental insignia at different periods of the regiment's existence, and a commemoration in white lettering. The plinth rests on a stone base at the head of a stone-flagged pathway. A section of tank tracks rests at the base of the plinth together with a rectangular granite tablet engraved with the name of the garden. The garden also holds a commemorative stone altar of modern design with an engraving of the regimental insignia ("Fear Naught") on the front of the altar base. A metal information plaque is affixed to the front of the altar. The garden is planted mainly to grass with tree saplings, some of which have individual commemorative plaques. It is understood to include an Ash tree taken from Cambrai, in recognition of the first use of tanks in the Battle of Cambrai, 1917.
