- Mercat CROSS ON TALL SLENDER PILLAR. UNUSUAL OCTAGONAL PLINTH WITH CRUCIFORM BUTTRESSES AND SLOPED ROOF EFFECT IN BETWEEN. Bronze Dedication & WW1 Names PANELS INSET INTO BUTTRESSES- dedication panel on the 6 o'clock face, 3 names panels on each of the other 3 sides. ON OCTAGONAL THREE STEPPED BASE AND SET WITHIN WALLED ENCLOSURE. WREATH ON FRONT FACE AND SWORD OF SACRIFICE IN THE FORM OF A CLAYMORE IN RELIEF ON FRONT FACE. The WW2 dedication is carved into the stone of the base, and the names are in lead lettering on the base.
