- Description
- HIGHLY ORNATE FRAMED ROLL OF HONOUR WITH PAINTING IN THE CENTRE. THERE IS A FOLIATE PATTERN ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDES, OUTSIDE TWO PILLARS WHICH SUPPORT AN ARCHWAY: THE NAMES, IN SIX COLUMNS, ARE BETWEEN THE PILLARS. AT THE CENTRE IS A PICTURE OF A FALLEN SOLDIER (James Clark was the artist) WITH A FAINT IMAGE OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS LOOKING DOWN ON HIM. CROSSED RIFLES AT THE BASE OF THE LEFT PILLAR, AN ANCHOR AT THE BASE OF THE RIGHT. TWO UNION FLAGS AT THE CENTRE BASE AND ROYAL COAT OF ARMS AT TOP CENTRE. TWO GOLD SHIELDS SURMOUNT PILLARS AND CARRY THE DATES.
