Comments: It was planned to build a memorial hospital but it was found to be an impossible task so a new sxcheme was formulated to build a ward at the Walthamstow and Leyton Hospital, to be called "Leyton and Leytonstone War Memorial Ward". A cheque for £3,500 towards the building fund for that purpose was handed to the Council of the Hospital who were doing their best to secure a flow of donations for the funds tobuild and maintain the ward. They hoped that before long the building of the ward would be started. (It is not clear from the files if this ward was built or still exists)
