Description
Wall with central dedicatory plaque flanked by two names plaques either side, in turn flanked by two crosses. The central plaque is headed by the City coat of arms, flanked by the devices of the Metropolitan Boroughs of Bethnal Green, to the left and Stepney to the right.

IN THIS/ GARDEN/ OF REMEMBRANCE/ REST THE BODIES OF 230 (sic)/ CIVILIAN MEN WOMEN/ AND CHILDREN/ OF THE CITY OF LONDON/ AND OF THE METROPOLITAN/ BOROUGHS OF/ BETHNAL GREEN AND STEPNEY/ WHO LOST/ THEIR LIVES IN/ THE AIR RAIDS ON LONDON/ DURING THE WAR 1939 - 1945/ THIS MEMORIAL WAS DEDICATED/ 12TH NOVEMBER 1950/ BY THE RT HON AND RT REV/ THE LORD BISHOP OF LONDON/ AND BY MINISTERS REPRESENTING OTHER DENOMINATIONS/ "THESE WERE THE TIMES WHEN THE ENGLISH AND/ PARTICULARLY THE LONDONERS WHO HAD THE/ PLACE OF HONOUR WERE SEEN AT THEIR BEST"
