- Description
- Oak board with carved oak leaves, Scottish thistle, roses, lily, ivy, hop, grape vine, laurel, clover and maple plants. There are two angels and painted regimental badges with the school crest in the centre. There are also crests to the eight soldiers on the board with Latin inscriptions.

- SCHOOL/ ALBAM EXORNARUNT/ BENE TERENDO/ FIDEM SERVA/ SEMPER AUDETE/ NON SIBI SED ALIAS/ VIRTUTEM QUARE/ SURGITO/ CONCORDIA VALEMUS. (Trans: They have decorated the white* by living well keep the faith always dare not for oneself but for others search for virtue onwards rise up we are strong in harmony. * In reference to the school motto: Albam Exorna. Decorate the white.) THESE TABLETS / ARE ERECTED / IN ORDER THAT THE MEMORY OF THOSE / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE / FREEDOM OF THEIR COUNTRY IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 MAY LIVE AS / A PERPETUAL INSPIRATION TO MANY / GENERATIONS OF ST DUNSTAN'S BOYS F W R BROWN (Master) THIS STEP WAS ERECTED BY DUNSTONIANS / IN MEMORY OF JULIAN FRANCIS STEELE.
