- Description
- Portland stone statue of a winged figure of peace, flag in left hand and trumpet in right. Cherub to her left. The Brixton Independent Church was severely destroyed by enemy action in September, 1940. Worship ceased and the Church reopened as the Roman Catholic Our Lady of the Rosary Church in 1953. - During WW2 the church was heavily damaged and worship ceased. It was restored as an RC church and reopened in 1953, now being Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

- The Times 14 Nov. 1921 p.5 Memorial was unveiled by Sir John Benn. (1850-1922. Publisher . Member of London County Council 1889-1922. Liberal MP 1892-95 and 1904-Jan. 1910. Unsuccessfully contested Clapham Dec. 2010.) Richard Belt died before the completion of the memorial which was undertaken by P G Bentham.
