Description
Triangular headed white marble tablet with marble carvings is mounted onto a black slate backboard. Latin cross at the top with a globe below is flanked by a half furled sail and an angled Standard. Anchor on the left of the inscription and a cannon on the right. Coat of arms at the bottom centre. Plaque giving details of its move to current location is placed nearby.

Tablet: SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF/ THE UNDERMENTIONED OFFICERS, FORMERLY PUPILS OF/ The Royal Naval School,/ WHO FELL WHILE NOBLY SERVING THEIR COUNTRY/ IN THE RUSSIAN WAR./ (NAMES)/ IN REMEMBRANCE AND APPRECIATION OF/ THEIR GALLANT AND MERITORIOUS SERVICES,/ A FEW FORMER PUPILS AND FRIENDS OF THE INSTITUTION,/ HAVE ERECTED THIS MONUMENT./ HONOR VIRTUTIS COMES. Base: "WE, BEING MANY, ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST,/ AND EVERY ONE MEMBERS ONE OF ANOTHER."/ ROMANS, XII. 5 Plaque: THESE TABLETS WERE REMOVED/ FROM THE CHAPEL OF THE ROYAL NAVAL SCHOOL, ELTHAM,/ WHEN THAT ESTABLISHMENT WAS CLOSED IN 1910,/ AND WERE PLACED HERE BY PERMISSION OF/ THE LORDS COMMISSIONERS OF THE ADMIRALTY.
