Description
A hospital wing (now demolished and replaced by a modern care centre) with associated dedicatory bronze plaque (now in the care centre lobby) and stone tablet (now in the care centre garden). The stonework bearing the name of the wing, originally above the entrance, is also now in the care centre garden. Note: The bronze plaque refers to a book listing the men and women of Acton who lost their lives in the Great War. This book is kept at Ealing Central Library and is recorded on this database as record 73044.

On bronze plaque: THIS OUTPATIENTS DEPARTMENT AND THE/ TWO WARDS AT THE SOUTHERN END OF THIS/ HOSPITAL WERE ERECTED BY THE PEOPLE/ OF ACTON 1922-23 AS A MEMORIAL TO THOSE/ MEN AND WOMEN OF ACTON WHO LOST THEIR/ LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR OF 1914-18/ THEIR NAMES ARE INSCRIBED IN A BOOK/ WHICH MAY BE SEEN AT THE COUNCIL OFFICES On stone tablet: THIS EXTENSION WAS OPENED ON JULY 12TH 1923/ BY/ THE RT.
