- Description
- In the Crypt, south aisle west bay, a wall panel with white marble bust of Parkes (1828-85) with full side-whiskers, his head turned to the left, wearing an embroidered tunic, sash, medals and badges. The bust is placed in a shallow niche with curved sides and supported on a bracket, below which are a pair of palm branches tied with ribbons. The architectural surround is of brown-veined cream-coloured marble with dark brown variegated marble pilasters, a triangular pediment, console wings and fluted apron brackets, the apron bearing the memorial inscription.
