Description
In the Crypt, Nelson Chamber, a colossal sculpted marble statue of a general with a sword and scroll. The statue represents a man with a beard, his head turned to the right, wearing a frock coat, badge and heavy cloak tied with a tasselled rope cord. His left hand rests on a sword, his right hand holds a scroll and behind his feet is a pile of books. The statue stands on a rough stone plinth on a moulded marble base.
