Description
In the Minor Canons aisle behind the Choir a door marked 'Vestry' until 1968 led to the Chorister's Room which still retains the 40 numbered hooks for their robes. Above the door is a triangular pediment, either side are incised wall panels on woodwork. The frieze and panels of an oak screen 'wall' bear the inscriptions with 4 ornately carved wooden columns. The names are on the panels on either side of the doorway, flanked by inscribed quotations from the bible and by crossed trumpets (right), with the Cathedral arms above the door.
