- History
- 2009: Memorial tablet and dedication tablet mounted on wall to right of main entrance of North Wing, in front of Hornsey memorial chapel. Tablet is floodlit at night. May 2007: The memorial has been removed, in sections, and placed in secure storage. It is unknown whether architectural features, also part of the memorial, have been saved. When the new centre is ready the memorial will be remounted. March 2007: Hospital demolished including South Ward, only Borough of Hornsey memorial chapel preserved. 2001: Hospital under threat of demolition. English Heritage does not consider it of sufficient special architectural or historic interest to merit listing as a whole. The Borough of Hornsey memorial chapel will be preserved. 1925: The South ward erected and the foundation stone was laid by Mrs Anderson. The memorial tablet to 2nd Lt Anderson was mounted above the entrance door of the South Ward. 1910: Hospital opened.
