Comments: The site was given by the governors of Harrow School. £1275 10s was raised through public donations. The memorial itself cost £850, of which £200 formed the cost for carving the names. The architect's fees were £116 18S, £22 was spent on advertising, £15 for the band on the day of unveiling and £4 2s for teas after the ceremony. The Council Surveyor estimated that a further £450 would be needed for planting, grass and a path around the site, exclusive of drainage and levelling of the site.
