WHEN PHOTO WAS TAKEN (1992) MEMORIAL WAS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT IT WAS LATER SEVERELY VANDALISED (1998) AND THE TABLETS REMOVED PENDING REPLACEMENT. ENTIRE STRUCTURE OBSCURED BY THORN HEDGE. ADDITIONAL REPORT FORM (1999) STATED IT WAS NOW WELL RESTORED BY PETER BENSON OF LITTLE BURSTEAD IN TEAK TO REPLACE DAMAGE & SOME STONE-WORK REPLACED. THE PEOPLE[OF THE PARISH] WERE SO SCANDALISED BY THE DAMAGE THAT THEY CONTRIBUTED TO THE REPAIRS AND THE INSURANCE ALSO PAID FOR SOME OF THE COSTS.
