- Plaque: IN THANKFULNESS TO GOD FOR THE MOST DEAR MEMORY OF A VERY TRUE AND GALLANT SOLDIER HUGH CRANFORD CAVENDISH, MAJOR ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, WHO FELL IN FRANCE AT THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME ON AUGUST 1ST 1916 AGED 35.
