Comments: The Memorial Hall was part funded by donations from USAAF and local community following the 1944 Freckleton Air Crash, along with a children's playground.

- References to the funding and building of the Memorial Hall in : Hedtke, JR., 2014, The Freckleton, England, Air Disaster: The B-24 Crash That Killed 38 Preschoolers and 23 Adults, August 23, 1944, McFarland, p152 + The text also records the raising of funds by BAD2 veterans, to donate 10 chairs in Holy Trinity Church, Freckleton, dedicated to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Warton Airfield (BAD2) Base Hospital, that managed to treat and save children injured in the Crash. There is also reference to the 18 Casualties - RAF, USAAF and Civilian personnel Killed and injured when the 'Sad Sack' Cafe was demolished in the same incident.
