- A large stone cenotaph with names on narrow bronze plaques. Carved sword and laurel wreath at the top. The whole is surrounded by chain link fence.

- Front: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE OF DORCHESTER WHO IN THE GREAT WAR GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR KING AND COUNTRY Back: THIS CENOTAPH WAS ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION AND UNVEILED BY THE RIGHT HONOURABLE LORD ELLENBOROUGH CB ON EMPIRE DAY 1921/ A L TUNNETT MAYOR, 1920, CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEE/ THIS MEMORIAL TABLET, ERECTED TO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE WORLD WAR 1939 - 1945, WAS UNVEILED BY HIS WORSHIP THE MAYOR OF DORCHESTER, COUNCILLOR HENRY J LONGMAN 1948 AND 1949/ (Names)
