Distinctive white Land Cruisers are the vehicles most closely associated with humanitarian work.
They are often seen in news reports and photographs across the world when attention turns to the work of humanitarian organisations.
A ‘B-52’ Toyota Land Cruiser used by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was on display as part of Aid Workers: Ethics Under Fire, a new exhibition exploring the experiences of aid workers supporting people who have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict.
The right vehicle can help aid workers tackle physical or geographical barriers that could prevent them from reaching people in need of assistance. But in places affected by conflict, there can also be complex political or ethical dilemmas to overcome.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Faced with practical, emotional and ethical challenges on a daily basis, how do aid workers choose who to help and decide which risks to take, and can their presence do more harm than good?
Aid Workers: Ethics Under Fire brought together powerful stories from conflict zones to explore these challenges from an insider perspective.
