To mark the upcoming release of 1917, IWM have organised an exclusive members-only Q&A with the filmmakers and cast of the film.
Director and writer Sam Mendes (Oscar award-winning director of Skyfall, Spectre and American Beauty), co-writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, producer Pippa Harris and cast members George Mackay and Dean-Charles Chapman will be joined by IWM Senior Curator Laura Clouting to discuss why film-makers are inspired to make war films and how cinema can influence our perceptions of war and conflict. The event will include a short preview of the film.
The Q&A will start promptly at 5pm and finish at 6pm, but members are welcome to arrive from 4.30pm. A cash bar will be available to purchase light refreshments and all attending members will be welcome to visit the rest of the museum until 8pm.
Members will also be able to enjoy a 20% discount in the IWM London shop for the evening, so a perfect opportunity for some Christmas shopping!
